MEPs Mohammed Chaim and Nicolás González Casares visits the Spanish National Hydrogen Centre
Nicolás González Casares highlighted the nature of Puertollano as a hydrogen development pole, a leading player in pioneering initiatives that place it at the forefront of the energy transition. He also emphasised the role of the European Parliament as a promoter of regulatory measures that are committed to renewable energies.
For his part, Alipio Garcia Rodriguez stressed the importance of the inclusion of Puertollano in the Spanish Hydrogen Backbone Network and its recognition in the final list of projects of community interest. This, in his opinion, will allow this network to become a “reality” by 2030.
He also highlighted the “privileged strategic position that Castilla-La Mancha has acquired to host all stages of the value chain in the development of renewable hydrogen thanks to the leadership that our region has achieved in the generation and installation of electricity from renewable sources”.
García also pointed out that Castilla-La Mancha has become an attraction for companies in the sector that are betting on setting up in the five provinces with pioneering renewable hydrogen projects, “thanks to the security and support we offer and the fact that we have a regional Hydrogen Cluster made up of more than 50 companies and entities to promote public-private alliances”.
