Grants of up to €60,000 per SME Published for Innovative Hydrogen Mobility Solutions under the IH-MIE Project

The Spanish National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2) announces the publication of the IH-MIE Open Call Guide for Applicants, a funding opportunity aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) developing innovative hydrogen mobility solutions. The call seeks to accelerate the technological maturity and market uptake of projects that contribute to the decarbonisation of the transport sector.

The Guide for Applicants provides all the information required to prepare and submit proposals, including eligibility conditions, evaluation criteria, funding rules, and detailed guidance on the electronic submission process.

Key Features of the IH-MIE Open Call

The IH-MIE Open Call will officially launch on 3 July 2026 and will remain open until 25 September 2026 for proposal submissions.

The call has a total budget of €1.8 million, providing up to €60,000 in funding per SME, complemented by tailored technical and business support for each selected project. SMEs may also participate as part of a consortium with up to two additional SMEs. In such cases, the maximum funding remains €60,000 per SME, allowing a consortium to receive up to €180,000 in total.

The IH-MIE Open Call 2026 will support up to 30 SME-led innovation projects aimed at strengthening Europe’s hydrogen mobility value chain by advancing technologies from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 to TRL 9.

In addition to financial support, beneficiaries will receive personalised technical and business mentoring designed to strengthen business models, market strategies, and the integration of innovative solutions into the hydrogen mobility value chain. The ultimate objective is to enhance the competitiveness of participating companies and support the successful scaling of their innovations.

Information Day (Info Day)

To help applicants better understand the call and address practical questions regarding proposal preparation and submission, an IH-MIE Open Call Info Day will take place online on 7 July 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 CET.

During the session, participants will learn about the objectives of the initiative, the key aspects of the Guide for Applicants, and will have the opportunity to ask questions during a dedicated Q&A session.
