IH-MIE Project Launches to Boost Hydrogen Mobility Innovation Across Europe

The European project IH-MIE (Interregional Hydrogen Mobility Initiative for Europe) has officially begun, marking a major milestone in interregional collaboration for the development of hydrogen technologies in sustainable mobility. With a total duration of three years and a budget of €4,802,380.65, IH-MIE is funded by the European Union through the Interregional Innovation Investments Instrument (I3).

The first consortium meeting took place during the week of October 20, 2025, at the facilities of the project coordinator, the Automotive Technology Centre of Galicia (CTAG). Representing the National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2) were Carlos de la Cruz and Jesús Ruiz de Pascual, who will coordinate the technical aspects of the integration and demonstration works of the hydrogen mobility solutions.

IH-MIE aims to establish a Hydrogen Mobility Interregional Hub, designed to strengthen SME innovation through cascade funding mechanisms, technical assistance, and coordinated investment strategies. The project seeks to reduce regional disparities and accelerate the green transition, positioning Europe as a leader in hydrogen-based sustainable mobility.
