Emilio Nieto and Beatriz Nieto, Finalists of the RENMAD Hydrogen Awards 2026

The Spanish National Hydrogen Centre has two representatives among the finalists of the 4th edition of the RENMAD Hydrogen Awards 2026, which recognise the contribution of companies, institutions and professionals to the development of the renewable hydrogen sector in Spain. Beatriz Nieto Calderón and Emilio Nieto Gallego have been selected in two of the individual categories of these awards, for which voting will remain open until 18 November.

The RENMAD Hydrogen Awards, organised as part of the RENMAD Hydrogen 2026 industry event, aim to highlight technological advances, innovation and the leadership of those contributing to driving the energy transition and the development of the hydrogen economy.

Beatriz Nieto Calderón, Head of the Engineering Unit at CNH2, has been selected as a finalist in the “Women in Renewable H2 2026” category, which recognises the careers and contributions of female professionals who play a prominent role in the development of renewable hydrogen.

An industrial engineer who has been associated with CNH2 since 2009, Beatriz has extensive experience in the design, development and commissioning of facilities related to hydrogen production, storage and use, as well as in research and technological innovation projects. Her nomination highlights the importance of female talent and its contribution to the advancement of a strategic sector for the energy transition.

For his part, Emilio Nieto Gallego, Director of CNH2, is among the finalists for the “H2 Personality of the Year Award”, a category that recognises professionals whose work, leadership and commitment have contributed significantly to the growth and consolidation of the renewable hydrogen sector.

At the helm of CNH2 since 2017, Emilio Nieto has developed a professional career linked to research, innovation and technological development, promoting the Centre’s participation in national and international initiatives and fostering collaboration between research organisations, companies and public administrations.

The presence of both professionals among the finalists represents recognition of their respective careers and reflects CNH2’s role as a leading centre in the research and development of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.

Following the announcement of the finalists on 13 October, the RENMAD Hydrogen Awards 2026 have entered their final stage of public voting, in which the winning nominees in the different categories will be selected.

Voting will remain open until 18 November 2026 at 15:30, and the winners will be announced during the awards ceremony to be held that same day in Zaragoza, coinciding with the RENMAD Hydrogen 2026 event, scheduled for 18 and 19 November.
