CNH2 Hosts the Hydrogen Working Group Meeting in Puertollano
On May 29, CNH2 hosted the meeting of the Hydrogen Working Group in Puertollano, bringing together representatives from Invest in Spain, the Spanish Hydrogen Association, and several regional governments.
During the session, Javier Rosell, Director General for Enterprises at the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, emphasized the strategic importance of CNH2 as a true “research ecosystem,” describing it as “a nexus between companies and institutions for R&D&I projects” in the hydrogen sector—ranging from the reuse of waste for hydrogen production to the conversion of solar energy into hydrogen. He also underscored how CNH2 contributes to positioning Puertollano and Castilla-La Mancha as key players in the development of this emerging industry.
Puertollano was thus highlighted as a “major nerve centre for hydrogen development in southern Europe.” Rosell also acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Green Hydrogen Cluster in advancing strategic projects in the sector, while praising the private-sector initiatives of companies such as Repsol, Air Liquide, Iberdrola, and Hydnum Steel in driving industrial decarbonisation through hydrogen technologies.
