Advancements in Hydrogen Refuelling Station Validation

Last updated on 02 June, 2025

The VeripHy project, developed by The Lean Hydrogen Company, introduces a groundbreaking mobile test bench for the commissioning of hydrogen refuelling stations—eliminating the need for vehicles during the process.

This innovative system simulates a vehicle, allowing the hydrogen station to perform refuelling operations while collecting detailed data on the refuelling process. The solution significantly streamlines Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for hydrogen refuelling stations.

The project has been made possible through funding from the NEOTEC programme of the CDTI, with the participation of the Spanish National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2). CNH2 contributed by providing access to its 350-bar hydrogen refuelling station (HRS) and other testing facilities in Puertollano for pressure and leak testing. Additionally, CNH2 is offering technical advice throughout the validation process, particularly regarding the prototype’s refuelling behaviour using hydrogen.

VeripHy exemplifies the value of public-private collaboration in advancing innovative hydrogen technologies.
