CNH2 Awarded Scientific-Technical Equipment Grant by the Spanish State Research Agency Estatal de Investigación

This investment strengthens CNH2’s research capabilities in the field of liquid hydrogen production and storage, with support from the 2021–2027 ERDF funds.
The Spanish National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2) has been selected as a beneficiary of the grant titled “Liquid Hydrogen Production Plant”, awarded under the 2024 Scientific-Technical Equipment call issued by the Spanish State Research Agency, part of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MINCIU), and co-financed through the 2021–2027 European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The aim of this funding programme is to provide shared research services within institutions with state-of-the-art scientific and technical infrastructure, enhancing specialised and efficient management while expanding access and usage among research groups.
As a result, CNH2 will execute an investment of €1,077,653.56, of which 85% is eligible for funding—a total of €916,005.53, made available as a reimbursable advance from the ERDF 2021–2027. This funding will be instrumental in advancing cutting-edge research in liquid hydrogen production and storage technologies.
This grant represents a strong endorsement of CNH2’s role in driving innovative solutions and consolidating its position as a national and international benchmark in clean and sustainable technologies. It also opens the door to new collaboration opportunities with research groups and institutions across Europe and beyond.
