Project Aim
The project focuses on the synthesis of symmetrical solid oxide electrolysers and their complete characterisation for the efficient generation of hydrogen and synthesis gas. This will be carried out by combining electrospinning, modified Pechini and mechanochemical synthesis techniques together with metal particle infiltration and exolution. To manufacture the symmetrical cells, functional layers will be deposited by screen printing on flat supports manufactured by tape casting.
A complete electrochemical characterization (polarization curves, long-term constant current tests and impedance spectroscopy) under different operating conditions varying the temperature, composition of inlet gases to the system and the operating point will be carried out. With all this, the aim is to determine the possible degradation mechanisms and optimize the performance and durability of the manufactured systems at CNH2 facilities.
