The Spanish National Hydrogen Centre refuels the new Hyundai NEXO
The Spanish National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2) has refuelled Hyundai’s new hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCEV) model NEXO, supporting the “Summer Test” campaign conducted by Hyundai in Spain this past July. This represents another step forward in the development of FCEVs, contributing to the enhancement, monitoring, and optimization of our hydrogen refuelling systems.
During the refuelling operation, a CNH2 technical team — composed of Jose Maria Olavarrieta, Carlos de la Cruz, and Alberto Aguilar — monitored in real time the key process parameters. The tests were carried out using hydrogen generated on-site through photovoltaic power and an alkaline electrolyzer.
This is the second generation of the NEXO fuel cell model, to be launched by Hyundai in 2026. It offers a driving range of over 700 km, a 150 kW electric motor, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability to power external devices at 220 V.
