Tender Launched for Liquid Hydrogen Production Plant
The Spanish National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2) has opened a public tender process aimed at strengthening its scientific and technical capabilities through the turnkey supply of a liquid hydrogen production plant. The contract has a base bidding budget of €646,800 and is part of the 20KELVIN project.

This investment falls within the 2024 “Scientific and Technical Equipment” call issued by the Spanish State Research Agency, under the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MINCIU). It is 85% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2021–2027. The project will be implemented with a total budget of €1,077,653.56, of which €916,005.53 will be provided through a repayable advance under the aforementioned programme.
The new facility will enable CNH2 to make significant progress in research areas related to the use of liquid hydrogen as an energy vector, particularly in the fields of mobility, industrial processes, and energy applications. Furthermore, the investment will foster collaboration with other research groups and both national and international institutions, consolidating CNH2’s role as a leading centre for clean and sustainable technologies.
