The Spanish National Hydrogen Centre Hosted Seminar on How to Communicate Hydrogen Technologies
Last updated on 02 June, 2025
On November 12, the Spanish National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2) held a new seminar focused on effective science communication around hydrogen technologies. The initiative responded to the growing interest in hydrogen as a clean and sustainable energy source and aimed to promote wider public understanding and dissemination of these advancements in an accessible and engaging way.
The seminar, held at CNH2’s facilities, was designed for both in-house researchers, who work daily with these technologies and often face challenges in communicating their findings to the general public, and for journalists, science communicators, and educators, who were provided with key resources for raising awareness about hydrogen’s role in the energy transition. Participants were equipped with tools to better understand and convey the potential of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, both from a scientific and a public outreach perspective.
Hydrogen remains a relatively unfamiliar topic for much of society. For this reason, CNH2 considers scientific outreach essential in establishing hydrogen as a viable and accessible energy alternative. The seminar also served as a preview of an upcoming course currently in development, which seeks to raise awareness of the importance of research and recent achievements in this field, while reinforcing CNH2’s role as a national reference centre serving both the scientific and industrial communities.
CNH2 is confident that these training efforts will help position hydrogen as a fundamental pillar of tomorrow’s society, ultimately supporting its adoption and use across various economic and technological sectors.
