From June 22 to 26, our colleague Mar\u00eda Panadero took part in the in-person workshops of the H2R Arauclima project, held in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay, with the aim of publicly presenting the comparative assessment of the technical and human capacities for the development of renewable hydrogen in the countries of the Southern Cone.<\/p>\n
These meetings provided an opportunity to share the results of the study, gather input from the different stakeholders involved, and discuss, through round tables and participatory sessions, the main needs and opportunities for accelerating the deployment of renewable hydrogen in the region.<\/p>\n
Throughout the three workshops, Mar\u00eda Panadero delivered the presentation entitled \u201cDemonstration Projects and TRL 4\u20136 Innovation Networks,\u201d focusing on the role of demonstration projects, technology centers and innovation networks in each country as key tools for accelerating technological development and supporting the scaling up and industrial deployment of renewable hydrogen.<\/p>\n
The event in Uruguay was also part of the \u201cRegional Green Hydrogen Meeting: Challenges and Opportunities in Innovation, Regulation and Financing,\u201d held from June 24 to 26 and organized together with the Ministry of Energy of Chile and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), with the support of the European Union under the Euroclima programme and the Global Gateway strategy.<\/p>\n
The meeting brought together institutional representatives from Latin America and Europe, who agreed on the need to strengthen regional cooperation and move forward toward a sustainable energy transition. Over the course of the three-day event, public institutions, international organizations and research centers exchanged experiences on public policies, regulatory frameworks, innovation and financing mechanisms linked to green hydrogen, while also promoting the creation of cooperation networks and the exchange of best practices.<\/p>\n
The activity carried out in Uruguay is also part of the Team Europe Initiative on Renewable Hydrogen in Chile (TEI RH2), a joint initiative with the European Union and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), aimed at supporting the deployment of a sustainable and inclusive green hydrogen economy. In this context, the ARAUCLIMA programme of Spanish Cooperation has also helped create a space for exchange on regional research and innovation systems linked to the renewable hydrogen industry in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The H2R Arauclima project, funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), is led by OLADE and includes the participation of CNH2, CSIC and CIEMAT.
