Although mainly focusing in the development and execution of different activities concerning the types of research, consulting and processing applications for the technological implementation of hydrogen and fuel cell based solutions, the strategic technology implementation area also offers technical training, dissemination and social perception services.
Currently, the hydrogen and fuel cell technologies have evolved from a distant theory to a strong market break through. Examples of these are cases like the hydrogen powered forklifts and heavy vehicles such as buses. In view of the above, it has become necessary to show the advantages provided by hydrogen in different applications to the general public, in order to allow different organisations to consider it as a real alternative by undertaking research, providing support in the development of different projects throughout the different stages and training the staff who will be in charge of operating the installations once implemented.
As part of their work aimed to ensure that hydrogen technologies are used in the different industries, the technological implementation area carries out technical/ financial research, feasibility surveys, and hydrogen based application implementation plans. They also undertake Life Cycle Analysis, carbon and water footprint research, consulting research and technical advice on hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, provides support to different companies in submitting permit applications with the Public Authorities in order to implement hydrogen infrastructures, in addition to providing specialised technical training on hydrogen and fuel cell technology and dissemination actions on the benefits of using hydrogen as an energy carrier, as well as social perception analysis among the different population segments in regards to the use of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.
